Things are looking good man. I remember looking through your build when I first joined but lost track of it. I wish I knew how to weld, I've got lots of Ideas that I want to do but would cost too much to have someone else do it.

Have you thought about plating the wheel side of your wheel fenders so that mud or what ever doesn't get stuck there and for a real clean look?

have you thought about running a bead of silicon caulk in the joints where the flat plate meets up with the round tube. to prevent rust.

im not guna use silicone but i plan on using the black body joint sealant like for floor pans in all the joints. it will look like caulking but i think it will hold up better. Im a caulker professionally so pretty good at making it look good

i have thought about it alot. i would like the look but would be scared of moisture build up after awhile. could do weep holes to correct that but look at 90% of jeep rockers. they had weep holes but they clogged up and rusted out.

i still might though. was gun fininsh most of the other stuff to see if its even worth the time to make pretty or if the inner tubing will match the exo cage and make it look right

you gonna do the same up front?
the front will be almost identical. i havent decided whether or not to make it bolt on or weld on though. i will be pretty much recreating 90% of the fron fender.

i cut the fron fender at the body lien straight across and will be putting a stright tuber with angle to rivet the little bit of fender. then along the frobnt of the door and back of the header panel there will be down tubes. then a pipe with the exact smae bens as the back will be welded and sheeted to the affor mentioned box i described.

havent figuerd out how i wanna sheet it though. duno if i need to make it look like rear and come out flat or have it angled

Sick XJ man. I am really digging the tub/wheel wells. I read that you keep dimensions and the like, was curious if you would pass the vital information along for the rear wheel tubs. Im a FNG to Jeeps, but Ive been working on hot rods and muscle cars for years. Jeeps look more user grade. Less show and more function.

you can only come close by dimensions alone. you just looking for the bends i used?

alot depends on where you cut your stuff out at. and mine was done with the intent of moving my axle back 3in.

let me know what ya need and ill pass any information on. forums are for learning and help. so i always try to help when i can

The angles of the bends that you used would be a great piece of intel. Thanks for your reply.

finally got my duplex remodel done and a few other things i needed to get done out of the way. now i have some free time to get back to jeep stuff.

Im tired of driving around the station wagon looking xj for a dd so im guna put the 6.5in lift of this pig on my dd. (hopefully next weekend)

well in preparation for this i need to get all the parts off this one. this one has alot of travel and is kinda tall so i have to use high lift jacks to get it up high enough to take wheels off ground. mine works good but i borrowed a buddies that he hasnt used in awhile. Fail.

any way. quick way to lower a jeep
