I may have missed this in the previous 17 pages but.. What gauge steel did you use for the armor you welded the flares to? I have a decent pile of 22gauge sheetmetal stacking up I may have to use it for something like that.

Duct taped the ends, packed it full of sand, and used one of the Harbor Freight pipe "kinkers" with modified die

Like this

Not super effective but kinda works enough for little things

wow you've got a head on your shoulders man the stuff you do is awesome keep the new ideas coming! how'd you make the doors removable? I've heard of cutting the bottom part of the hinge and replacing the pin... I also heard that the 2 dr doors are too heavy and cause mis-alignment I'd like to do that to mine and am pretty handy with a grinder but i dont have 20 jeeps lying around so i need to do it right ( as close as possible hahaha) the first time

Default In your shoes...

Love the build as well as the title. Im kind of in the same boat as you in terms of pack rat and craigslist junkie.

Id kill for a welder/garage to work in but for the time being, my little driveway at the parents place does the job. I myself am looking to get some pictures/info on the following:

1. more pictures of the headlights (I usually use the four fog/driving lights on my front lightbar as headlights, but the blackouts might replace my stocks for good ol looks.)
2. info on the alt. work you did to get the grand cherokee alt installed.

Keep up the good work. I was forced to buy a newer (99) xj from a dealership because my $700 cherokees always needed to much work. So my parents thought i wasnt going to lift/alter my 99... three days later the guy sat 5 inches higher, roof rack made from conduit from home depot, lights mounted and decals to match.

ill shoot you a text soon!
