Did the drum brakes.

Note to self; pay someone to do the drum brakes next time

Old stuff was pretty worn and crusty

The rear storage thingy, was it special for the XJ, or you found it and it fit?
Looks good.
Also the removal of the side trim looks good too.
I would have just kept with the copper also. lol

I had a little time to kill this evening so I changed the oil filter adapter O-rings

I still had a leak after doing valve cover gasket oil pan gasket and the rear main seal.

I hope this does the trick

Seems that the oil filter adapter o-ring kit did the trick for the oil leak... should have started there.

Changed all my +/- cables today to the kit from Ksuspension.

Also trying out his hood spacers for cooling purposes.

Not sure how I feel about them yet

I found this thing on a local classified ad and couldn’t resist.

I would have had to buy that RC Jeep too.
My first Jeep way back when was a '46 CJ2A that I put a Buick V6 in.
I used to keep my old GI Joe Jeep, one of the big ones from the '60's, on
a shelf in the garage near the Jeep. When I sold the CJ in the '90's the
guy had to have the GI Joe Jeep.
We worked it out. LOL.

Ordered some marathon seat covers and they arrived today. I mostly just wanted storage in the backs of the seats and the knee pockets for phones or whatever since the Cherokee suffers a severe lack of storage space.

Decided to remove the seats to install them which definitely made it easier; until I broke a bolt off.

i have had marathon seat covers on a few other trucks and they have always been great quality

Tried a broken bolt extractor to no avail, ended up drilling it out and running a new grade 8 bolt through the floor

Marathon had a 50$ off sale so I ordered the matching back seat cover. Very happy with the fit.

Very nice looking XJ. I don't think you overpaid, either. When I lived in CO and was looking for an XJ, that one woulda been $7.5k + easy.

I need to replace my rear hatch bumpstops as well.

Nice Jeep, I like the storage idea via seatbacks on the seat covers. How do you like your tires? Quiet enough?

Thanks, these are the tires that were on the jeep when I bought it. I think they are out of production now. but they aren't too bad. I will probably end up getting falken wildpeak at3w or falken wildpeak MT when I need new ones. I'm currently trying to decide if I should stick with 31x10.5 or step down to 30x9.5
