Basically, you'll run a hot from the battery to your relay. Since you're doing such a long run, I'd suggest an inline fuse about 6 inches from your battery just in case. Run the hot to pin 30, Run your spliced wire from the hot on the OEM reverse lights to pin 86, run common ground to pin 85, and then pin 87 goes to your aftermarket reverse lights.

Well, similar to this, but instead of a standalone switch, splice a wire from your hots on your reverse lights to the switch pole on the relay - that way when your reverse lights come on, they act as the switch - tripping the relay and turning on your lights.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I want them on when I'm in reverse but I also wanted to be able to switch them on whenever. Ok when It comes time to wire them in I'm sure I'll have questions lol thanks

It's been my life long dream to get a tire carrier bumper for one of my jeeps so I'm alittle biased... It's going to take me some time to get another rim and tire so it might look alittle bare, but I'll definitely be posting pics

Here is the bumper now, all cleaned up and painted. I'm going to put the lights back in it and bring it home. Weather permitting I'll be taking the stock bumper off tomorrow, and shooting for the following day to install

The only reason I ran a separate switch was so I could turn them on when moving forward. I always seem to be the tail gunner on our midnight runs, and I liked the feeling of no one being able to sneak up on us from behind. Also... That guy who decides to ride your *** with his highbeams on? Taken care of.

Hmmmm.... that's not what I meant. Your reverse lights are essentially the switch. When they turn on, the lights will turn on. If you want to switch them on manually, you'd just have to run 2 relays out back. One that uses the switch on your dash, the other that uses your reverse lights as the switch... not sure if there's an easier way that that without back-feeding the reverse light circuit.

Dang, I need to brush up on my electrical skills. I mean wiring them direct to my reverse lights would be fine... But it would be nice to be able to switch them on and off.. Maybe I'll just run them to a switch only

There you are! Haha and yes that's the exact reasons why I want them available at any time. It just seems like a lot of work to get it done but It will be worth it.

Executive decision has been made: tax time I will be getting a new lift kit. Time to move out of the realm of 3 inch kits and move into something a little more suiting. I think I still want to run 33s tho.
Any suggestions for tax time?

It is. You can run a switch wire from an independent switch as well as the reverse lights. That gets a bit more complicated. But there are times when you need the lights separately, and times when you don't need them on when reversing, such as not blinding the guy on the trail behind you in tough spot.

Piece it together. Use The best parts of them, And what your budget allows. I'll have some parts available for you to start with, like the leafs and shackles from mine. That will get you to 6" in the back even without the extra carrier spring.

Yeah when we were talking really got me thinking. That's going to be a really solid start. When they are available definitely let me know 6 inches of lift would be a dream.
I had a line on a brand new sye by advanced adapter for 150 bucks but I didn't jump on it because I was only at 3 inches. Definitely pissed now lol

That's true, I didn't really think about it like that. I mean it's no biggie to have to flip the switch when I'm reversing when needed. I'm sure there will be times when I won't need blinding light since it is my dd
