it took me a while to finish this since the only real chance I get to be online is at work, but I must say this is probably by far my favorite build thread that I've seen, I wish mine was as clean as yours.
I absolutely love all the little touches you have thrown in your build, and I was on the fence bout the dip, but after seeing your thread I'm sold wife's XJ is getting dipped soon as I have the time/cash, mine is already black with brush scratches down the side so don't see it doing me much good lol.
anyway great build, really looking forward to seeing more of it on here!

Thank you very much that means a lot! Plasti dip is great stuff I still stand behind it. The dip on my jeep has been there for months I never would have guessed it would last this long and stay looking good. Once the weather gets warm in the spring I'm going to be redoing everything for the jeep invasion in June.

Finally had a chance to finish the final steps of the bumper overhaul. Reworded the lights in with some crimp solder seal butt connectors and some heat shrink.

Finished it up with a touch of sikaflex where the wires come and of the bumper and were good to go. Going to be taking the stock bumper off and hopefully getting this thing installed tomorrow! Then Saturday night I'll be welding the supports in. That's the plan!
I took off tomorrow to get some rest for Thursday. I'm taking my gf to Times Square for her birthday so maybe I can even start the wiring tomorrow night

I haven't thought about what to use mine for. I was gonna regear with it but I picked an 00xj for 1k that I'm pulling geared axles off of and swapping into mine

yippee got the bumper on today! Man getting the stock one off was a chore. I knew it wasnt going to be fun.. i had tried taking it off once before and gave up bc of how tight the bolts were with rust. This time there was no going back it had to be done...
I started with pulling the black trim back that sits behind the bumper sandwhiched up against the body. A pair of dikes/ my pry bar ( lol ) made quick work of that. Then i sprayed the 8 bolts with some PB. While i let it sit i took off my hitch and just got everything ready to go on. Since i had no help i had to improvise, there was no way i was going to be able to hold the bumper up and bolt it on... so i grabbed a huge piece of a tree stump and used that along with a small cobble stone as support. after test fitting the bumper once one thing was obvious- the ends of the nutserts i used to mount the hitch werent going to work with this bumper... in fact they extended into where the bumpers mount plate wanted to go.. alittle love with a sawzall with a metal blade and we were good to go.
