It shouldn't be much longer. They don't decide whether or not you should be approved I think it's just the way meetup.com has it setup. If you don't get approved in another day or so lemme know and I'll Facebook one of the organizers.
Thanks,
I was starting to wonder if I got denied since I don't actually own a jeep right now.
Another question. How many miles on 4.0 straight 6 would you feel comfortable with?
I have been looking for a fairly stock 97-99 for between 2 and 3k and most of them have about 200k on them. This won't be a daily driver but I still need it to be able to get to WV a couple times a year and not break down in the woods.
If it seems to be taken care of, would that mileage scare you away?

The 4.0 is definitely able to go 300k, but getting into high mileage line that I don't know. How they've been treated really comes into play.
No we have a couple guys searching for their first jeep so they shouldn't have denied you four that.

At 200k, take a VERY GOOD look at the maintenance records. If it's been treated well and taken care of, 200k is nothing. But you're looking at a slew of problems throughout the drive-train if it's been abused. For me, it's not so much mileage that scares me as it is the history of the vehicle. If there aren't maintenance records, I'm gonna be extremely cautious, no matter the mileage. You can kill a vehicle with only 15k on it if you really abuse it, or you can have a 300k+ vehicle that runs perfectly. If you have any questions on anything, take it to a reputable mechanic to look it over.
Got an email today regarding hrjc. Denied because I don't currently own a jeep.
Not a big deal, just a point of info.
Closed on the refi of my house on wed. I am all clear now to buy once
I find the one.

There are some older ones (pre 97) and some newer ones (00-01) on CL right now too for decent prices. I know you were looking for a 97-99 though. The 00-01's aren't bad, just gotta make sure the cooling system is in top shape due to the 0331 head Chrysler used on the 4.0 those years.
I've been eyeing that red one. I'm up the mountains till Sunday
And planned on calling about it then
I am thinking I want to stay more stock and do the mods myself as needed.
Unless I was really sure about the previous owner I'd be more worried about things done half assed. At least that is what I have found with all the motorcycles I have bought and sold.
Anybody wanna check the red one out with me? Glad to buy you your favorite 6 pack.
