I understand the advantages of the 4 door, but having wheeled with that huge lift for a few years and getting close to rolling numerous times, I would prefer easier to cut wheel wells and a lower COG. The increased difficulty accessing rear cargo seems a fair trade for not having to roll my jeep off its lid :-) that being said, if anyone has the proper fabrication equipment lying around to open up those 4 door wheel wells and slide the axle back a few inches, I will gladly make my jeep the guinea pig!
Lowes has sheet metal and I have a rivet gun ha ha

I love rivet guns! Seriously, I get unnaturally excited about rivets. They speak to me on a deep level

I just got off the phone with Matt(hadfield4wd) we have some big plans that include 3 linking the front, flipping the rear springs(4" of extra WB) and adding a traction bar, cutting out the rear wheel wells back to the hatch, adding a shackle relocation kit, bringing the lift down 3 inches, clocking my 241OR flat and adding a skid plate, and I'm sure some other things that will pop up as a result of all the above. Thanks for hooking me up with Matt @xjtrailrider!

No problem! I stopped and looked your XJ over a while back and yes you have way too much lift. I'm at 5.5" on 35's and some trimming and bump stops. I have never felt like I was going to flop in my rig. I have my suspension set up for droop and not compression. I use the HD shackle relocation brackets in the rear to get my shackle angle correct.

Matt will fix all of the issues and make you a very good wheelin rig.

I'm very excited about the things we have planned! It's got some surface rust where I have hacked up the fenders and smashed the driprail that I am looking forward to neutralizing as well. He is having me return the 6" springs that are being sent to replace my damaged units in favor of 4" springs coupled with the HD shackle relocation kit to bring the height down and improve ride/flex. Any recommendations over the rustys springs I currently have?

I have the RE Super Flex 4.5" springs coupled with ACOS in the front and the shackle re-locators in the rear.

I prefer short arms and drop brackets over long arms but both work just as good, mine flexes all it needs to. I have the Currie lower arms and Iron Offroad uppers and a Currie trac bar. I'm running the NitroCharger shocks(extended version). Stock steering with a Big Daddy tie rod.

The whole set-up has been reliable as the sun.

Default Wanted, OEM gas tank skid for a 97-01 XJ

I need one asap! I have called all of the local JY's and I either get a no. don't no-come look or like Old Dominion did, they strung me along for 4 days saying they had one only to tell me that they didn't! So i lost 4 days with those JA's.

If any of you know of a factory skid for the 97-01 XJ(would even consider a 87-96 and modify it) let me know; jrhammes@yahoo.com

Cps I believe, beacuse the symptoms match and this will be the 5th one I've put in it, would do a mopar but these have a lifetime replacement... But I can't return it for anything but store credit..

Right. Take a socket extension or something that will reach the top of the CPS and tap on it pushing it closer to the flex plate. This might get you a couple of more starts. Sometimes cold water poured over the CPS will work if heat is the reason it shut down. I don't think yours is heat related though.
