After having the 01 towed home last for a bad TPS from Amazon, put the old one back on and had been running great. Until last night, it shut off while driving, had let it sit for a couple minutes and she fired up, only to cut out again after getting her off the road. Wouldn't restart this time. Put my code reader on it and no DTC. Fuel pump does cycle when key is turned on. Had it towed again, when they got it to the house, tried to start it while still on flatbed. It fired right up, but died about a minute later. Ran through the reader checking things since no codes appeared. TPS with key on showed 17%, pushed the pedal to the floor and the ready went to 72%. 3/4 tank of gas so iI can rule that out. Haven't tried it yet today, any ideas?

Kinda sounds like when the CPS went in my '00.
I believe it was experiencing thermal failure.

Read your post from last year, and it's almost identical from mine except for the temp part. Mine got to temp and was still running, then poof it stopped. Seeing as the mods that I did, checked all the connections again. Found that the crankshaft sensor wasn't on all the way. Removed that when I changed the oil sender that went bad. It didn't make any difference. So I'll be ordering both as they are factory with over 167k on them. Lucky I have my 94 to use till I change those two.

Soooo, now have a 2000 Xj as well if you didn’t see already on different social media platforms

2000 with a bad motor. Runs, but knocks pretty good.

jcr front and rear bumpers
rubicon express 3.5” lift
dana 44 rear
hooligan flares
hood louvers
and some other goodies.

not too shabby for $600. Hopefully picking up a motor this week to swap in.

Gotta say for $600 really tough to go wrong.
I picked this up a few days ago for $115 shipped.
Not sure if I am going to use it or not but $115 seemed
more then reasonable so I figured grab and go from there. LOL.

maybe in the future. This Jeep won’t be offroaded nearly as much as my blue one, if at all.

picking up a 4.0 today for it which i’ll swap into it sometime in the next month or so.

Engine stand and new exhaust manifold should show up today. New 4.0 has 140k miles on it.

so hopefully in the next few days the new motor will be in and hopefully running.

also the monstaliner showed up.

As I have the greatest sense of timing, I bought my first house at the beginning of march.

Replaced the rear main seal and oil pan gasket today. Stupid thing is still dripping oil from the bottom bolt where the flywheel cover bolts to the bell housing. Doesn’t look like clean oil either and I just changed it with seals, so confused right now.

Got the new Gen 3 XRC winch installed today. I’m pretty happy with the build of the winch and the new features. It’s tucked in the bumper pretty nicely as well, so no need to worry about damage. Now I just need the quarantine to be over so I can get up to Rausch and hopefully not need to use it...

I just got one more thing to do really before I can take my Jeep back up to rausch. I'm gonna try to start going at least once a month.
