The rig is fixed and no more overheating!!! I put in a new radiator, new hoses and another new thermostat. The muck that came out of the radiator was pretty bad. It looked like clay, but it wasn't of course. Very relieved that is wasn't a blown head gasket like the state inspector thought. Pit all new brakes on too, so she will pass final inspection tomorrow.

Does anyone know of a place in MD that buys old catalytic converters. I cut the old one off this morning and thought it might be worth a few bucks but don't know where to take it. I called Maryland Recycle in Glen Burnie and they said they do not buy them. Any other ideas ?

EDIT: Never mind....
"Maryland Law requires all sellers of catalytic converters to be "a licensed automotive dismantler and recycler or scrap metal processor; or an agent or employee of a licensed commercial enterprise." Thus, we require a valid business or scrapper's license the first time a customer sells us a catalytic converter."
So looks like you're SOL. Toss it in the metal scrap bin with the rest of the rusty steel

Yeah, you need a license to scrap cats. People used to go down rows of parked cars at night with a battery Sawzall for easy money. Had the same problem back in Cleveland

Thanks for the replies, I know they were a high theft item for quite some time but figured it was worth a try to ask. I guess it is headed to the landfill this weekend.
