I don't know the exact years.. but IIRC the 96 and newer D30's had bigger U-joints stock, the shafts where a little bigger too. the older ones with ABS also has the bigger shafts. Its a stock shaft that I was refuring to, and is a straight swap for non disco axles. or you can remove the disco part of the front D30 internals, and run a solid shaft by installing a seal at the diff for the pass axle....

Where the **** have you been? lol

This is a great setup, and the F9" is the king of the aftermarket world, can get up to 40 spline shafts for it lol, the only down side is that its the same amount of work to put them in as a D60/D60, D60/14B D60/10.25 ect ect And if you pull them from a JY the cost is about the same too... But that really comes down to what YOU want for your vehicle. I run D44's F+R becuase I didn't want to cut down a 9" or D60 for the rear... Kinda wish I did (Jason's rig always rubs it in my face) but I don't think I will ever NEED them.... also the extra clearance is nice ince I run 35's... one day 37's but thats when it a bit more beat and on a trailer... (for some sick reason I am excited for this lol)

D44 out of a (80-90)Grand wagoneer or early bronco, or a flipped Toyota 81-85 front axle. but both are 6 lug 6x5.5... there aren't many options our width, and none with our lug pattern. Or you can cut down any axle you please to fit the width your looking for. It is popular for people to narrow the F250 D44 front to the waggy width and run waggy shafts, making it a HP front D44 the right width, and it has 1/2" tubes (so I have read) and can run 5x5.5 which is easy to make the rear match...

You can pull good interior at the JY cheap all day long, but a rear 44 isn't so easy to come by!

Dosent the state look at your existing registration and make you stay with the month recorded on the last registration ? Gotta friend with a 95 XJ thats been sitting for 3 years and we were looking for a alternative to paying 3 years back

Lol, oh yeah, so we welded light tabs on all pretty... (we where drunk) Tom looks at them... we both go "think they'll hold?" so tom grabs a sledge to find out and beats the **** out of them lol... then grabs the torch and we straightened them out.... as we look at our beautiful metal "fab" skills Tom doesn't realize (with the torch in his left hand) that the torch is pointed straight at his hand... about 6-10 inches away... realizes its on him by the smell of flesh any who... here is the pic.... (a couple days later)

It really comes down to what work you feel like doing... Axle work, or interior... for 2000 I would hope they are in good condition....

Not bad for $3500, or $4500 with trailer, IMO lol (but looks can be deceiving)

Nice hope it works. My friend was told the only work around was to re-register it as a salvaged title and claim it was in an accident and had to rebuild it to avoid the 3 year sitting register fees.
