I am doorless right now and was last summer, never been hassled, and i've even been pulled over with them off (for speeding, not for the doors) its legal!! and fun...and you only need a mirror on the drivers side too!

straight form the book... P.62 UHShandbook
G. DOORS
1. Check doors and door components for proper operation.
a.REJECT when:
1) Doors are missing when not designed by the original manufacturer to be removed.
2) Door parts are missing, broken or sagging to the extent that the door cannot be opened and closed properly.
3) Interior and exterior door handles are not present and
function as designed by the manufacturer.
P.64
*NOTE: One mirror on driver's side is required on all vehicles manufactured
after January 1968. In addition, a mirror on the passenger side is
required when tinting is present or the rear view is obstructed.
again, just because it is in the book doesn't mean you will get a ticket but it means you can....

i dunno if anyone on here heard of the 5mile crack down last summer, but the sheriffs were pulling over ANYONE that was not legal and they were picky... if you were missing a mirror they would get you but no doors no mud flaps no fender flairs were instant tickets.

I've had mixed luck with no doors, though it was on my samurai. First and only time i've been pulled over for no doors or mirror was Easter Safari 01. We had just finished Poison Spider and headed back to the motel. I had the doors in the back and said I didn't have time to put them back on. Put them back on in front of the officer and I was good. Never had a problem after, even driving the Zuk to 5 mile many times. Always had my mirror. If all else fails, Carry the door with you just in case. Might keep your jeep out of impound
I will never argue door less is 125% better and funner. Once my doors are off for the season, they never go back on till it gets cold. And if ya didn't notice, Don't goin to think the pass door will work on Donatello again. Lol
