I have had pretty good luck with safety inspections....but today it caught up with me. Check out his performance today with these comments:
-Steering stablaizer bushing is gone (pointing at the HEIM on the TRACK BAR) Also, I have no steering stabalizer.
-Missing a nut on a rear shock (no missing nuts at all)
-Front feels "loose." Usually that is control arm bushings, but you don't have those. (Really? I thought my control arms had those)
-There's stuff missing up front; it should be at least 50% covered in front of the front tires (I thought that was for the rear?)
-Hole in the exhaust pipe (OK, I accept that one
)
He only made it official on the missing nut (that was not missing) and the exhaust hole. He said he did not mark the coverage up front because he "literally did not know how to phrase it." It must be hard to enforce made up rules.
Actually maybe he is right, but I was not able to find a reference to it in the manual, and no one has mentioned it the last 5 years it has looked like that.
Sheesh.

Fenders do not cover the top 50% of the tire. That's how You would word it, straight from the manual. What a jack ***
You can still come see me for your re test tho.
On the front being loose could be a number of things. Not just your missing control arm bushings. Lmao

I'm brand new to the Jeep world. I recently bought a 98 XJ Sport with 160,000 miles. I have already started working on it but still need to do a few more things. I think that I need to change the flexplate as it is knocking in that area. I checked the bolts and they all appear to be tight so I think it is starting to crack. I live in Taylorsville. Any suggestions or recommendations for getting it changed without spending a lot? I don't want to get stranded when I go hunting next month Thanks!

You say they seam tight as in you can turn it and they turn flex plate ? Or did you put a socket and ratchet on crank pulley and try to tighten ?

We are all good - I got the exhaust fixed and the two "fails" were marked as repaired and passed. He did not mark anything about the "loose" front end. It isn't loose. He just isn't XJ-on-35s savvy.

I really like it. I got it for $1,000. I installed: headgasket, radiator, water pump, tranny shift solenoids, all tune up items, 3" RC lift kit. I had the catalytic converter changed as well. A few other things as well. It has been an interesting experience. Lots of work! I have done all this over the past 30 days. I just want it ready to go hunting! Back to the flexplate, I put a wrench on it and it moves the whole flexplate if I try and turn the bolts. Should I try something different? I ordered a new flexplate but I don't know if this is to much for me to install. I really don't even know if this is the problem because it doesn't do it all the time I'm noticing, but it definitely is coming from that location. Thanks for the help.
