You could make it work but you better truss that puppy. The zj's have a Dana 44A, which is am aluminum center section. It will twist and warp under stress and destroy carrier bearings. I trussed one and welded it for my buddy and he has never had any problems with it. Also it will have 3:73 gears so plan on regearing if yours are different.

 

I got a c 8.25 out of a 97 .. Will the gearing match my d 30 ?? My jeep is a 95 sport

 

Check the I.d. tag. Or count the gear teeth

 

Count the ring gear teeth then count the pinion teeth, divide the ring gear number by the pinion number and that's your ratio.

 

Ok sounds easy now my front is stock so what would it be

 

Same way as rear axle they came with different options best way is to count them too then you can put new oil and have a service too
