Anybody have one of these control units for a 96 xj? The connector is melted on the fan speed section so I'm not getting any fan speed control.

Looks the same as the selector for my 90. I think mine works fine. I just need to fix the ac/heat unit. Otherwise I'd take it.

Maybe you misread my post or my post was not clear. I myself am looking for the whole unit as my fan control **** is fried on the backside of the unit.

SORRY! I did misread. have you tried a PaP? A couple XJs at the one on lamb had some on their innards still attached. Might be worth checking out.

I haven't checked at a junkyard yet as I just found it. But wanted to see if someone had one laying around that they don't need anymore first before the JY.

The height diameter difference between a 33 and 35 is 1" how high were you stacking the rocks to make a difference?

What was the gearing change as far from to? That could have been the big difference... Are you running lockers front and rear also?

Thanks for showing concern for my comment. But to rain on your parade. I had 33 inch toyo mt tires and they actually measured between 31 and 32 inches tall. I now run Goodyear mtr tires that are actually 35 inches tall making them the size of most 37 inch tires. So where ever the one inch came from is unknown. And I went from 373 to 456 gears while still on 33 inch tires. If I wasn't smart enough to figure that out hen I'd hope I wasn't building the vehicle

You didn't rain on anyone's parade, I was more interested in what you were currently running for gears, tires and lockers to have such a change in ability, obviously it wasn't the tire diameter.

I like your set up, I'm looking to build another one but not road worthy so was just curious about your driveline. I have Yukon axles, arb lockers f&r, clocked transfer case, flat belly , frame stiffeners, and 29" tires. It's not a question of capability I know what an xj can do, I surprise the hell out of people with my sleeper, it was more of what works for others.

Sorry if that seemed out of line, just a simple question, but now that you opened the question, so from a 31 to a 37 would be 3" inches of diameter difference, how high were you having to stack the rocks to climb 5 foot waterfalls again I mean with a 3 inch gain in tires diameter? Three inch rocks? Just kidding not clowning your for your rainy day parade.

But a true to size 35" tire is a 35" tire you can't compare it to 37's that are 35" tall it's still 35" tire diameter measured tire. So your 33 that was a true to size 31 is still only 2 inches different in actually tire diameter than your true to size 35 correct? So 2" rocks.

But thanks for the info, so you are pleased with 4:56 with 37's then, I have 4:56 with 33's in my yj, but 3:73 with 29's on the xj.

What are you running for lockers?

You're just thinking how much height difference you're getting there's so much more. Rolling diameter is a bigger part of larger tires. Yes it's only 3" higher, but the rolling diameter is so much bigger. Small rocks on 31s become nothing on 35s because you just roll over them.

Have you driven a vehicle with 35s or 37s? It's a different ballgame
