LAS VEGAS XJ GROUP-----> 1st ROLL CALL.
well my OFA started leaking the other day so I went to the dealer to get the oring kit. turns out it doesn't fit my OFA lol.
my orings on top kit on bottom

So I decided to just remove the OFA all together
reomoved the nipple and cut it down

removed the roll pin from block

install the nipple in the block

then install the new smaller filter

I went with the bosch 3330 filter but the fram ph3614 or anything else the same size would have worked too.
also cutting down the nipple doesnt apply to everyone, some people can install the filter without doing it. I had to cut about an inch off
anyway gained 10 to 15 psi of oil pressure cold because of not having all the blow by inside the OFA from the ****ty orings. we will see how much more I have when its warm. All said and done it cost me 8 bucks( the price of a new filter) if you don't count the oring kit I didnt use that cost 4.99. Another big plus of this is having the filter mounted inverted so that all the oil doesn't drain out when you shut the engine off. Yes filters are supposed to have check valves but I have yet to find one that actually works for the jeep. Even the WIX dry out after a while of sitting.

So I fixed my oil pan, then a few days later my first gear exploded. today i finally got the replacement transmission from pick n pull from an 87 with 258k on it. im keeping the broke trans and im going to rebuild it. im putting the new trans in tomorrow and i need to replace the mount, does anyone know if the auto trans mount they sell at orielly's will fit on the manual (Ba10/5)? no one seems to carry the same mount thats on my jeep.
saturday the 1st some friends and I are doing wheelers pass. we are meeting at 9 am at the Sinclair gas station on centennial and commerce. It will be a bunch of wranglers so lets get together and show them some awesome XJs. I was planning on spending that day at the JY getting an 8.8 and various parts for the swap but I suppose I could do that after we get back into town

Axle swap is complete! I hate these drum brakes... but the disc swap will be for a later date.
What a difference it is. Absolutely no noise. I can actually hear my Magnaflow exhaust now!

anyway congrats on the swap man, now sell that old axle to someone with a d35 lol
If you guessed bar pin eliminators you are right. $17 for materials and a hour or so in the garage. and picked up some front brake hoses out of a chevy 1500 from the junk yard today for 6 bucks.

4"LED reverse lights are expensive! $40 each average price in town, without the grommet or pigtails. Might just throw in another set of STT LED tails from walmart for $30/pair and use the lowers as a plain tail light.
This is all that is holding me up from the LED tail conversion. Modified a set of factory tail lights for the 4" LED lights. My originals were cracked so I cut em up for this

Stopped by to say hello!
I'm currently in Las Vegas staying at a friend's for a little while. I'm unsure if I'll be able to do any wheeling but meeting up for coffee or something cheap I'm game!
BTW I'm driving a green XJ classic.
