Yes, tires were for sale on this forum for awhile. Everybody wanted them but nobody had the cash. I put them on Craigslist and they sold within 12 minutes of me putting finishing the ad.

I wish you would have spoke up earlier, Dude. I really wanted them to go to a Cherokee guy. The guy who bought them got all 5 wheels and tires for $200. I basically gave them away, but that's what I do to clear space in my gargae for new stuff.

Well, the slow boat from China finally arrived yesterday. I'm really pleased with my first looks at the new shocks. You can see from the pics I have a full 5" more of extention from the front shocks and about 3.5" from the rears. They came with all of the required Dog Bones, hardware and pretty red polyurethane bushings. They also came with red shock boots, red zipties and skyjacker stickers which will not be put on. The stickers are pretty pointless as the first wheeling trip will destroy them and while fruity colored shock boots look really cool on street and show trucks. I've found if you wheel your rig for real in the wet muddy stuff , shock boots trap water inside and rot/rust your shocks pistons and seals out.
I am also pleased with my old shocks though they look pretty beat up and cruddy in these pics. These shocks were originally purchased 7 years ago with a 4.5" lift kit. They were used with a 4.5" lift. Then, they were used with a 6" lift and beat on all the while over 7 years. I really got my moneys worth out of them.
So, as all of you know who have been following along with my build. The shocks were the last componants I was waiting on for my new 8.5" lift that I will be putting on Great White. I got a lot of my deck done this last weekend in between short rain showers. My wife will be heading out of town over the weekend of 25 and 26 May. That gives me 11 days to get the work I need to do to my axles done. Then, the lift, axles and tires will be installed on the Jeep over that weekend.

Good Morning, fellas. I finally drug the axles out of the garage last night and gave them a good scrub up in the driveway and looked them over for fixes I plan to make. As you can see from the pics my rear D44 is in pretty rough shape. The gear oil all leaked out because the pinion seal is shredded from the pinion spinning in an egg pattern after the rear driveshaft being too long and bottoming out hard multiple times while wheeling. I already have the new master rebuild kit. I'm hoping I will get lucky and not have to replace the ring and pinion, also. Those nasty old bent up lower shock mounts are going to get cut and ground off and the new low profile shock mounts I bought from Rusty's Offroad will be welded onto the axle tubes. Those big old heavy 13 inch drum brakes that dont work worth a darn are coming off and I will be installing rear discs from a 94 Ford Crown Vic rear D44.

I did get the D44 all cleaned up. I recommend not buying expensive degreasers when cleaning up vehicle parts. The best degreaser known to this guy is good old Dawn Dishwashing Liquid. So, the D44 is back inside the garage all cleaned up and ready to be taken apart.

So, once I was done with the D44, it was time to drag out the D30 and get it cleaned up. As you can see from the pics, I have Hockey Puck bump stops to replace as they have big chunks out of them from hard wheeling. I also need to get this upper balljoint pressed back in. I've never seen a balljoint work its way out like this before. I also need to get the other (long side) (cast) axle shaft and Dura (CRUD) U-joint swapped out for the Spicer shaft (97-01) XJ style and 760 U-joint I acquired to put in it. I also ordered a set of Alloy USA axle seals to throw in while I have the axle apart. Thanks again goes to Alex for giving me the short side shaft that day on the trail in Walker valley after I had broken the old cast short side shaft and then broke my spare short side shaft as well. The screwed up Balljoint is what caused the broken axles. Anyhoo, all of that bad stuff will be fixed before the axle goes into Great White.

I got really lucky with the D44. I gave $400 for whole 87 XJ that the axle was in. The D30 is from a 94 XJ and I picked locally so I could have a Non-Disco front axle in my XJ. I did what I called a Super 30 build on the cheap, on it a little over a year ago. I finding out now that the areas where I went cheap before wasn't a good idea. I still don't have chromo axle shafts in it but I'm going all Spicer so that's a step up from what I was running. I'm putting it out there right now because I know from personal experience DONNOT buy Duralast or Duralast Gold U-joints for your XJ. They are garbage!!!

Hmm what about the driveline u joints? they dont take as much abuse as axle u joints. I just bought 2 out of the 6 i need to rebuild both my drivelines, but hearing this i might order the spicer u joints that are only 2$ more each. What do you think buck? Maybe ill keep the durajunk for trail spares.
