I converted mine and helped a friend do his. It is not that hard at all. You can get everything you need at Home Depot except for the air tank and pressure switch. The most important thing is to make sure you get a good oiler to keep your compressor working. If you want any help or advice just let me know.
I would love to have a list of supplies it took to make your oba from your compressor, I have seen writeups but never any with materials they used. Im tired of not being able to air up my own tires=[ halp!

Ya about that I should probably tell you, Im from California. I have only lived up here for 7 years now. My inlaws are locals but they are all OLD and their jeeps are more lawn ornaments than anything else. I wheel where I can but Ive only really been to Tahuya and as far up Rd 70 as I can get in the winter.
This trail, for about 90% of it is easy, even with snow. theres a few key spots that are fun to navigate, but other than that pffft u got this!

Im not to worried about the snow, my jeep has been down for a while and my last trip ended with my jeep getting so hot it died several times (I know, shame on me). I just got it right again but I just havent deemed it reliable yet. This is really the maiden voyage if you will, otherwise I would be bringing the wife and kids. Plus I need to test out my new accessories without my wife gettin scared.
O and heres a pic of my jeep near Naches (I think), back in 2007 when it was stock. The snow was awesome that day!

Here's a quick run down how I did my OBA with supply list links to the parts I used. For this list I found everything online looking at Northern Tool and Summit Racing. After adding it all up it comes to around $190 but I made mine a bit cheaper by finding some stuff at the hardware or auto store. You could also or use your bumpers or rock sliders for air tanks and save money there too.
-First make sure your AC system is properly drained
To hook everything up to the AC compressor I reccomend using the stock hoses and find some barbed fittings and hose clamps to attach them to the air compessor oiler and oil filter. Make sure to leave the outlet hose as long as possible.
-Attach a Breather Filter to the Compressor Oiler and hook that to the inlet of the compressor.
-From the compressor outlet hose attach your Oil filter and hook your Air Manifold directy to it.
-Put your Pressure Switch and Safety Valve on the manifold.
-Attach your manifold to an Air Tank < This air tank is a pretty good deal, $50 for 2.5 gal tank that comes with air hoses and fittings to hook it to the manifold and a pressure gague.
-Find ignition power at your fuse panel and run that to a Toggle Switch and then to one of the leads on the pressure switch, then attach the other lead on the pressure switch to the wire coming from your AC compressor.
-Make sure any unused ports on the manifold and tank are plugged up, then hook an Air hose with a Tire chuck on it and your ready to start filling some tires!

You can click on the link to see exactly what air manifold I'm talking about. You dont have to use an air manifold, but I did cause I only had 2 holes in my tank and needed a place to hook up my pressure switch and safety valve. Its also nice to have the pressue switch under the hood so that I had to run less wire and I have the option to easily add another coupler in the front if I want to.

So, I locked my front end, ordered a new cb antenna and ordered my forest pass. Is there anything else you would recommend other than the usual assortment of trail tools?

Not yet but I just replaced ujoints cause they were getting a little sloppy and I have spare parts so Im good. I dont wheel with a heavy foot unless I have to. I snapped a rear yoke off a F250 once and that was the last time I broke something because of a heavy foot.
