So, I have this wheeling trip cleared with all of my women folk. The wife says go and have fun and my mom says yes come stay overnight. That will make it so much nicer and easier come Saturday morning I will only have a one hour drive to Elbe. Makes getting there early much easier.

Hey Dude I was saying at the beginning of this Thread that I wasn't scared to run Busy Wild in my Jeep. All the guys who started posting up said I shouldn't do it on anything less than 35s. You've seen my Jeep and driving. Do you think I would make it through Busy Wild? My winch is working and pulls my Jeep just fine and you know I'm not sceered of body damage....

I actually like Erick's idea. I am going to run as many of the other trails as daylight allows. If we make it through Sunrise all the way up to the end of Ranier Vista with no problems and plenty of time left I will run Busy Wild with whoever else wants to. If the other trails prove to be difficult then I will save my first trip down Busy Wild for the summertime. All the trail reports I've read about these trails in Elbe say they are all more difficult in the wet/winter season but that a narrow short wheel based rig with agressive tires and lockers is your best bet. That is pretty much how my XJ is set up...lol. Really the only thing that is going to stop me is water that is deep enough to hydro-lock my engine. I don't even push that envelope when I have a 200 mile drive home.
well tim i dont think it will be frozen. the weather report shows rain and warm temperatures into next week. it will be very wet and sloppy. im staying away from the busy until my cage and other mods are done. then i will do it no problem. running the busy would take ALL day so i would rather hit more than one trail

I actually hope it does stay warm and rainy like it is now for the Elbe run. Muddy and sloppy is fun as long as the water isn't too deep. I would really like to see the actual lay of the land for my first trip to Elbe Hills. Then, run it snow covered some other time. I will be there at 7:00am on Saturday, January 22, 2011, ready to hit the first trail reguardless of the weather.

So I just looked and this thread has now had 1,045 lookiloos, 83 actual posts and we have 7 actual confirmed guys coming for this run. That tells me there are an awful lot of you still out there just lookilooing and actually following and rechecking what is going on with the run but not posting up and taking that next step come along with us. What enjoyment a guy could get out of being a so called "Web Wheeler" is totally beyond me. If you are going to be a member of Cherokeeforum why not do what it was actually intended to do, like meet other people in your area who are Cherokee enthusiasts and setting up meetings and runs to actually meet the other people face to face and then go 4wheeling together. So, c'mon and, if you are going to take the time to look at my Elbe Hills run thread, take the time to post up, say hi and then, make the choice to come along with us and have a great day of wheeling at Elbe Hills. You still have awhole week to clear it with the wife, get that next paycheck or whatever else is keeping you from coming. Again, if your rig is stock drive it out to Elbe anyway and meet everybody. Then, if you want to see how other guys negotiate trails in their Cherokee before you try it yourself, climb in with one of them and ride. This is also a great opportunity for newbies with stockers to see some modified rigs and gather ideas and references to do mods and get parts on the cheap.

I would like to come and hop in with one of you guys if possible? I currently drive an old 74 J10 jeep that is kinda big for the trails up there and I dont currently have it up to par to even try anything in it but drive it. Will be gettin another cherokee but dunno if it will be in time for the run, thats why i ask if i could possibly ride along with a fellow jeeper? Thanks guys.

X2 on that. We will pair anybody who wants to ride up with somebody at the Elbe Hills ORV trailhead/campground/parking lot. Just know I have "Bad Luck" Matt riding with me. I'll probably get stuck rightaway...LMAO!!!
