Well if I have my count correct, we should have seven Cherokees and two possible FJ cruisers coming for our Elbe trip so far. C'mon all you lookiloos who checked out this thread and didnt roger up. You are going to miss an awesome run. We have guys coming from all directions to Elbe. Post up and throw in with one of the groups. I'd like to hit my goal of ten Cherokees from the forum showing up at one run. Two more weeks until we do this run for you to post up and come along.

My buddy at work has had alot of guys talk smack to him about building a XJ, and he wants to bring them out there to prove their big trucks are junk. But we both don't want to have to pull the along or dig them out all day. Could be worth the bragging rights. Gonna definently shoot for being there at 7 am, but might be sometime in between 7 and 8.

Pick-ups mostly, probably from the south where big trucks are pristine tail getting machines.

Tell them guys with their big *** fullsize trucks to Bringit!!! I can guarantee them body damage as they try to wedge their big *** trucks down our narrow winding Jeep trails in Washington. Also if they are older trucks which are usually carburated I wish them luck keeping them running. Definitely bring them along bobby. it will be my pleasure to make believers out of your Bogger Boys from the south....LMAO!!!!!

Just bumping this invite to our PACNORWEST Chapter of Cherokeeforum Elbe Hills 4x4 run back up to the top. Anybody who can make please come. We, on this forum, don't do nearly as many runs as we should and when we do such a very very small percentage of the guys that I see writing on the forum ever show up to them. So, C'mon tuff the cold and get your Cherokee out on some fun trails!!!!! Afterall that is what they were built for.

So, I was just checking out the map of Elbe Hills. It looks like Sunrise Trail would be a good first trail to run as it leaves the road right by the campground....and then it goes right into the Mainline Trail. Mainline goes right into Alder Loop and Alder Loop goes right into Mainline Extension. The way the map looks to me, a guy could actually run these trails end to end as one big long trail. So, is that the way it really is or is there a definite beginning and end to each trail with a little separation between them? Hey another question, are all of the trails at Elbe Hills clearly marked with the trail's name? Other places I've been to wheel in Washington, the trails aren't very clearly marked.

If I remember correctly then yes the trails could be ran as one long trail but they do have a definite beginning and end. Elbe is probly the best posted area. They have detailed signs at each entrance to the trails stating the name of the trail, the difficulty, and what the minimum requirements of the vehicles running that trail should have such as single or dual lockers, the minimum tire size, tow points, winch, etc.. You willl be suprised at how well they are marked.

I figured we would start on the trails you stated and the last trail comes out right at a big rock pit where we can take the logging road all the way back to the staging area

Dusty do you not have a Cherokee yet or is it that you feel it isnt modified enough to do the trails? Like Branden said even if your XJ isnt a trail beast yet drive it as far as the Elbe Hills parking lot/campground and then jump in with one of us. I for one would like to at least see the rigs of all the new guys I meet on this run.

So, I was checking the map of Elbe out again. None of the trails appear to be very long except the Busy Wild. I'm not sure if that scale on the map is altitude in feet or distance in feet. I saw what you were talking about Branden. We can pretty much run all the trails end to end with the Ranier Vista Trail being the last. I'm guessing it is the one that ends in the big rock pit and then we can take the 9 road back to the campground/trailhead/parking lot. Hopefully that rock pit provides a big open area with Mt. Ranier in the background for a group shot.
