Hi everyone. I wanted to make a post about the Discover Pass. As much as I think the discover pass is a joke and the laws behind it are not very clear, You are REQUIRED to have a pass for any DNR controlled land. I was ticketed for $203 for not having a pass while driving even though I hadn't been on the trails yet and was looking to buy a pass. The Department of Natural resources has Officers out on the look out enforcing the law. $35 is cheaper then a $203 ticket. Also, I have found that the DNR has bikes they use to patrol in the trails too so just because you think your alone, deep in the trails don't mean DNR officers are not out. I also want to include that if you want to kick back a few brews, Do it after you get home. The officer that stopped me was trying to sniff out me and the passengers to see if we had consumed and was also scoping out my rig to see any bottles. If you are seen with alcohol in your rig on state land, You can be fined and jailed. Also forgot to mention, your Trailer, Vehicle, and Quads / Bikes are REQUIRED to have the pass even if your parked having lunch. I'm only trying to warn people who do not have the pass, Enjoy your trip and thanks for reading.

Thats where the law gets tricky, If you got a plate on your quad / bike, I believe you need the Discover Pass. But if you have the ORV sticker your safe. I know you need 1 for the trailer thats moving your quad/bike though. This thread was mainly aimed towards people running there wheelers without the pass.

ALSO, each discovery pass can have 2 vehicles on it. so lets say you have a RV, truck, jeep, and a car. you can put the RV and truck on one and the jeep and car on the other.
BUT, lets say you tow your jeep to the trail with the truck, both vehicles must have there own pass

you must have a pass for the tow rig and your xj. not the trailer.
