[quote=GreenXJ95;290189]Did some talking around and this is whats going to happen.
First i have to get my hands on a cutoff wheel
Im going to take some very good measurements
Then im going to cut out this section in the pic(thats the only bad part on the unibody)
Then cut out the good section on the 2wd and weld it in place keeping the geometry stock and finishing it up by stiffening and adding some steel to weak points.
Really bad idea for your safety and others on the road that jeep is done for i can see from the pics that the rest of the unibody is in really por condition and very unsafe to drive.
There is no reall diference between a 2wd xj and 4wd xj unlike say a chevy s10 that use independent front suspension on its 2wd models the jeep use a solid front tube.
Since you have a 4wd and 2wd jeep swapping it over would be a easy weekend job.

i also would move all the good stuff to the 2wd. It will probably take you just as long as cutting, welding and so on but you wouldn't have to worry about your repair failing.
pull the trans/tcase as a unit and see if the cross members are the same. the front axle is what, 5 bolts (arms and track bar), 2 brake hoses, the steering joint at the box and the breather hose? You would probably have to cut the hole for the tcase shifter to come through the floor. I don't think it would be that bad. a few friends and a trans jack you should be done by the end of the weekend. especially since you know you have all the parts.
I would take factory unibody over repaired unibody anyday....

Cancer is as Cancer does.
No two ways around it.
Why ruin a perfectly good 2WD to try and PATCH a rusted out 4WD.
Like others have said...Transfer everything over to the 2WD.
It will all BOLT in.
TRYING to repair that amount of cancer is a very big task.
Are you ready for a boat-load of headaches?
If you DO decide to make the repair using the 2WD as a donor, just remember this...
If it doesn't work----you have TWO pieces of junk.

I'll beat this dead horse too. Swap everything you need over to the 2WD XJ. MUCH safer than trying to hack the unibody. Sometimes, its best to let them go...

If you want i can find the write up about what you need to do to swap it from 2wd to 4wd i think it took the guy about 6 hours to do it so not bad about the same time it takes to put a big lift on.

Make two plies. One of the stuff you could make a buck on and stuff you can use on a new rig. Call the scrap yard and they may give you a couple hundred each just for the vins & titles.

you have a motor, just a little more work

you know...
if the under frame is ok...
see, it's calling you, ehehh..

ease up. this guy wouldn't be the 1st to successfully repair a unibody.. with skill and patience it can be done.. I know a guy who built one good ford falcon from two (one had front end damage, and the other rear end) that is a unibody.
Now if he thinks he can do it with a sawsall and an arc welder, ur prolly right, bad idea.

OKAY...
You left out that bit of info about the 2WD.
If you can put the 4WD in "DOWN-TIME"
&
IF you think you can do it...More power to ya.
(Saying that in a positive, reassuring way)
Make sure you cut out all the cancer...It WILL come back to haunt you.

The rest of the unibody is fine. The leaf mount breaking happend when a dusher wrapped a chain around the rear leaf and my buddy that owned this before me didnt know. This was the cause of it. I picked it up for $500 and considering my teacher does this stuff and i can weld shouldnt be a problem. It will take time and patients but ill post the after math
