Im gonna do that and that water proof spray that they use for phones and stuff its pretty expensive thoughOriginally Posted by dukie564
yeah there's really no alternative unfortunately. Open up the new one and smear everything with di-electric grease, and fill the sealing groove of the case with RTV or more dielectric greasehttp://bc4x4.com/tech/2010/jeep-neut...ty-switch-nss/

Yes for the second time i have checked and rechecked the switch its the switch thanx
waterproofing the outside would be useless - just worry about the seal groove and the innards

Wait. Your reverse lights worked or they didn't work? Earlier you said "I don't think they ever worked" and now you're saying that they did work. See how that can be confusing when we're trying to help you figure this out?Originally Posted by xj81

Well last year i had the strating issues that also goes wit tis wouldn't start cleaned the nss and it started so to be honest i dont know if the lights werent working then i didn't check then it would play the starting game again so took it.out again cleaned and this time no start at all so i bought a new nss last fall had it inspected last fall passed no issue since then no problems starting now i went for inspection this fall and the mechanic called said i have no reverse lights cant pass like that so i bring it home clean it they came on got it inspected and now no lights again but no starting issues so i put the meter on like you suggested i think it was you even after i checked twice before and got same results everything is good but the switch but again i never check my reverse light real good never cared i just assumed they didn't work ever but maybe they did lol this second nss deal has forced me to check the wires to the lights and the lights work so its not getting power from the dead half of the switch like ot was mentioned half the switch can crappy out and the other half still works so i can start like normal even in neutral but no lights i narrowed it down a while agoOriginally Posted by F1Addict

Yeah. Except this may happen:
From a teacher -- short and to the point
In the world of hi-tech gadgetry, I've noticed that more and more people who send text messages and emails have long forgotten the art of capital letters.
For those of you who fall into this category, please take note of the following statement:
"Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse."
Is everybody clear on that?
