XJ or Grand?!?
Hello CF,
New to the group. Back into jeeps after a several years...
I have been looking at a XJ. Before I buy, I looked into Grands.
They seem to a good bit cheaper for later years. Less than a 1000 for mid 90s models.
Here is my question:
XJ or Grand? I realize that the Xj is better off road than the grand. But, is the Grande a good buy?

welcome to the forum
but either way u go itll be great, but it depends on what u want, typically the zj's (grand cherokee) has more luxury and a nicer ride for the most part, but the xj is more rugged,i rather have a xj over a zj any day though

Well anyone on this forum is gonna be partial to XJ's including me. I will say that some ZJ's and WJ's look pretty sick lifted and are great offroad. The Grands coil spring suspension do well and arent as susecptable to the saggy butt syndrome that plagues the XJ's. The only down side I know about the grands is they are more prone to electrical gremlins. Personally I think if your gonna get back into Jeeps, do it right. save some money, buy a cherry XJ, lift it and rock it out hard core! Good Luck!

X2... after owning a ZJ, KK, and now on my second XJ, i would pick my XJ over a zj anyday as far as wheeling goes. If you plan on letting her see alot of street time, a ZJ would more than likely be a bit more comfortable for you and anything/anyone else that rides with you

ive had quite a few of each... For comfort you cant beat a grand and for mild wheeling there isnt much difference in them.
if its going to be 3.5" or under and something for the family to use go grand... something more serious and lifted higher go XJ.
Grands in this area right now arent selling very good and go for some pretty good prices.

basically it's your preference...i personally like the style and lines of the XJ much better than a zj or wj
grands are supposed to be better (hence the extra 10 grand new)
but XJs are much more practical and efficient as well
my family owns a small airplane and the interior of the XJ is almost identical within a few inches
