Oddball wheel question (Cragar)
So I'm curious to why I see so many people running the Cragar Soft 8 on their XJ's (Jeeps in general), curious because the Soft 8 on Jegs is $47.99 and the Cragar V-5 is $45.99. The only difference besides aesthetics is the backspacing, which is 4.75" on the Soft and on the V-5 it's 3.75". I think I'd prefer the lesser backspacing because it'll push the wheel an inch further outboard, plus the V-5 is just different the more common V-5 and I'd save myself $8 (I'm a cheap a$$ I guess)
Also has anyone bought new wheels for less than Jegs prices?
Also this is referring to just the 15x8" wheel.

I'm getting the soft 8s cuz I think its kind of the classic jeep rim and they are basically a steal for that price. And I'm a poor college student.

I'm running Soft 8's 16X8....I like the look and the BS works for me, no hassles when it comes to the yearly safety inspections.
Most garages around me are **** about tires sticking out to far beyond the fenders.
I paid about what you mention in your post.....

The V-5's and soft 8's are available in all the same backspacing. I have 4" BS on an 8" wide rim. a buddy has 3.75" bs, another buddy has 4.5" bs. and one guy i know runs 2" bs on his sammy. It comes down to looks really. The soft eight is just a simple clean looking wheel that goes with anything.
