Long days. I know how that goes. 11+ hrs at work, plus three to four hours workin on a buddies tl1000r. Long days all around lol

lol same here. i work on cars at work and more after. but i enjoy when its on my own stuff making it better. i still have to build a engine for my other car but no time. and i aready have all the parts.

At this point I'd suggest getting your XJ up on a lift or jack stands with the transfer case in neutral and rotating things by hand. If the grinding is audible at 30 MPH hopefully you can hear something with your head down there while the engine's off. Could be chain, gears, brakes, bearings, or that garden gnome you hit a while back that you swear looked like it was actually alive or something and just crawls above the gas tank when you park it, scheming and plotting...

bump stop advice for 4.5 lift.... going to run 32 or 33s. with no major fender trimming
