Default Broke hatch

Any ideas on how to get it to open? At first it opened fine. Then I had to lock-unlock the power lock, then sometimes it opened....now not at all. This process took about 6 months. I am frustrated with this and really don't want to take it in for repair. Hope I can find an answer here
Here's your answer. Happened to both my wifes and my cherokee. It's a very easy fix if you can get the hatch open, a little more difficult if you can't. What has happened is the two mounting screws that hold the locking/latch assymbly have wiggled loose enough that when you try to unlock it there is no stability for the mechanism to work against to make the latch work. Whether you get it open or not, you will need to get the liftgate door cover off. It is held on by panel tabs, push in pull out type. once that panel is off the rest is easy. Tighten all the screws you can get to, if not opened, and that should give the latch works enough resistance to work. Once opened, look up into the latch works and tighten all the screws that remain. Lube everything up good with wd-40 or the like to prevent the thing from hammering itsself loose again. Re-assemble the hatch. You're good to go. Good luck.

2. The seal/rear bearing is not between the tranny and engine, it's around the output for the crankshaft. Since the tranny connects to the crankshaft, bad vibrations could make the bearing/seal go bad much faster yes. Repair both at the same time.
Bad tranny mount, no. bad u-joint, yes. I had replaced two rear main seals on my '91 cherokee before I found that even though tight, the cap bands on the rear yoke just weren't tight enough and allowed enough wiggle to vibrate the rear seal to crap. I replace the rear yoke with a u-bolt type yoke and the problem went away.

Ok Ive looked and probably missed it. I have finally gotten my engine problems felt with and am looking at lift now but noticed that my leafs in back are flat like almost a straight line. So do I need to replace them or can I rebend them. I'm only looking at going with like a 3.5 inch lift.

if they're flat you can build a bastard pack like me (i used some Dakota leafs), or buy a new spring pack.
