Parts stores were no help. I took it to a hardware store, and it screws perfectly into a M10-1.00, but when I bought that size bolt, it wouldn't screw in place on the Jeep.

Can you drill out the hole and retread it with a similar size. I've done it with small scale construction work, would it be the same for you?

Do a CF and google search for transmission sensors and governor sensors. It might shut off cause the TPS possibly since it feels it isn't where it wants to be since you're in drive and it can't get Into next gear. Check maybe overdrive. Just some suggestions hopefully if I'm wrong someone will have a similar issue. Good luck

Ok, so my 2000 has a vibration starting around 55 mph. It gets worse as the speed is increased. Doesn't appear to be a wheel-bearing, so I am thinking maybe a U joint? Any ideas?

I'm gonna hit up the local 4WheelParts store tomorrow and see if they have any magic. If not, I'll just avoid full lock until I trim my fenders more, and then I can adjust them with the stock bolt.

Default Nuetral safety switch-large nut not cooperating

I'm trying to take off neutral safety switch. the large nut on the bottom, after several turns, can be turned by hand but won't come off. Any ideas?

I've a 91 4.0 I6 XJ.

My husband swears its the HO but I thought the HO wasn't in production til 92.

I have the Power/Comfort trans toggle as well, which I have read was there until 92 when they started putting the HOs in them.

Am I wrong?

I just had my whole dash torn apart. This included the lower dash. While it was like this I had to drive it a little. It felt exactly how you are describing. There is a small box that controls your transmission, that has to be disconnected to remove the dash. Look up behind your lower dash center in front of your passenger seat. Since you have a 96 as well off should be a steel box with a turquoise plug going into it. Before you go crazy and tear anything apart or spend any money on anything try this. Make sure it is plugged all the way in.

I believe you are correct about the years. Mine also says it right on the back

I'm going to have to check my XJ in the AM. I know the emblem on the back says 4.0, but the Husb says it says 4.0High Output. So I'm slightly boggled. Been googling my butt off.

From different threads I've seen on here the HO is basically in 'Power' mode at all times, so the Power/Comfort toggle wouldn't be there & would be unnecessary.

Other than the emblem & the toggle, what else can I look for to determine if I have the HO or not?
