The only way coolant can burn is if it gets into the combustion chamber. This can be diagnosed with a cylinder compression test.

and the compression test would show me that its either fine... or theres a leak. and the only leak could be a head gasket... right?

I think bad o-rings could show up on a compression test as well. But considering the symptoms I would put my money on the head gasket.

i have a 3 inch grand wagoneer lift that i got for a project i was planning, butits not gonna happen now. so instead of trying to sell it and make part of my money back, i was wondering if i could use most of the stuff on my xj. i figure i can use the shocks, brake lines, lift blocks, u bolts, steering conversion. but i was wondering if i could use the front lift springs from the kit as lift springs for the rear.

idk now i had someone say the smoke looked blue to them. i just did an oil change so im full now so im gonna keep a close eye on the oil level... if it is rings how much would that cost? i feel like it would be too much to consider a posibility... like.. i feel like it would probably be cheaper to swap in a chrysler v8 right?

The 4.0 I6 is a solid engine worth repairing. If theres pale smoke coming from the exhaust and you're losing coolant and can't find the leak then it's most likely the head gasket. They've been known to go bad in these engines. Also check signs for leaks around the water pump and bottom end of the hoses if you haven't already.

235/75 is a much better sidewall ratio and will fit a stock XJ. 245/45 will look retarded (do they even make this size????) - they're also WAY smaller than the stock tires....

I think you're confused???

well im fairly certain its burning oil now.... im keeping a close eye on the oil and it has moved down i would love to keep my I6 buuuut if theres an easy swap to shove a v8 under the hood i would like to do that. cause i mean if i can get more power and better mileage... unless i get a stroked 4.0.. idk im so torn on what to do i cant keep my thoughts straight with everything

There is no EASY swap (in fact it's quite difficult). Burning a little oil is common for a high mileage engine, and leaking is even more common. Engines consume oil even when they are brand new. If it's slow and not apparent at the tailpipe (blue smoke) I wouldn't worry - just keep the level topped off and change it regularly.

My 246k 4.0L goes through about 1 quart every 2000 miles, mostly from leaks. That's about normal for these trucks from my experience.

I'm running 235/70/16s and I'm pleased with them. IMO I don't think you should do 245s.
