im in need of serious help. lookin under my jeep today at the stock leaf spring thing. holy crap! aint they pose to be "U" shaped? if so, im screwed. my are bent flat. at the end facing towards the back is almost bent in a upside down "U" shape. any help or ideas what would cause is? do i need to get new ones before installing my AAL?

not too serious man, they're just worn out. They still work, they just can't "get it up" anymore lol.
however, i would not recommend added an AAL beneath them. It will help for a bit, but putting the whole burden of lifting the jeep on one leaf will cause your jeep to ride horribly, and it will sag rather quickly. I'd look into selling the AALs and get yourself some new leaf packs.
I've pretty much scrapped my bastard pack lift idea due to my leaf condition unless I can find good stock ones to replace mine...

I just bought a 95 sport 5spd. I have been reading like crazy for a week and cannot find anyone having exaxtly the problem im having so im going to go ahead and ask. Ok, so when i so first start for the day my idle is low (500-800) and when it warms its too high (1100-1300) and twice now it has died while in gear at about 30mph. both times it died it fired back up after about one minute. So far i have replaced the TPS, CTS, MIT, new ccv to intake manifold vacuum line, and waiting on a new MAP sensor and a charcoal canister vacuum line. Any other ideas? im going to replace the upstream o2 also. what about cps or iac valve? i just bought the jeep a couple weeks ago other than the idle it runs strong for 259k
always wanted an xj and love it alot so i need to figure this thing out. any help will be much appreciated.

Also i believe there are diagnostic ports on the passenger side fender well - one wire going into the smaller diagnostic port is the tach signal, you can splice it there also (prob a better solution)

I have a question for those more experienced than myself in troubleshooting;
My radio and blower died yesterday, and at this time of year this is a rather serious issue, especially with a 7 m/o daughter who must tough it out in the back seat.
The Jeep is an 88 Laredo, and there is no power to the fuses for the radio or blower either.
Any ideas? I tried checking the fuseable links, but no idea of how to proceed, they all seem good.

Have you checked the underhood fuses?
Is everything else electrical in the cab working normally?

I am not aware of any underhood fuses in an 88, and yes, that is with the key on, no power to either side of either fuse for blower or radio.
And I can't seem to find anything else that isn't working, although I haven't conducted a thorough search.
