Do you get to the map light bulbs in the front dome light assembly the same way? (The bulb behind the center lens is easy, the map light bulbs on the sides less obvious. They work basically the same as the rear light, pressing the lens activates a switch.)

Thanks, it popped right out with no problem. Once you free the light assembly from the headilner it is self-evident how to proceed.

Anybody know what this knocking is. It's not Flexplate, I've check that multiple times already. Typically does it when warm. Sometimes there, sometimes not, it comes and goes. But it's been doin it more lately.
Sounds a little different in the second half of video but that's how it sounded tonight. It usually sounds like what it did in the first half. I'm thinking rod knock but not sure.

I recall seeing a car forum a few years ago that had a section where people could organize vehicle transportation with folks who were already planning to drive. Some of them daisy-chained a few legs to get across the country for a couple hundred dollars. I don't know which forum it was or if you'd be interested, but maybe someone here knows what I'm talking about?

Wondering what people's thoughts are on the visionX 5x7 headlight housings. I want to go with the autopal housings but a buddy of mine switched over to some led headlights (he loves them, I....do not) and gave me these.
Does anyone have personal experience with one or preferably both of these housings?
I'm want to test these out against my stock sealed beams to see if there is a difference, but I also want to know if these are on par with the autopal housings. Yes I have the harness already.

As long as you hook up the strap to something sturdy, you should be fine. I've seen people use the stock bumper, the tie rod, and even one of their shocks when they needed to pull someone. Don't be like them

I have the factory tow hooks and there's 2 in the front, so I'd rather have it hooked up that way because the weight would be distributed evenly as opposed to one side with the back hook.

Be aware that on older vehicles like ours, the welds stress and corrosion doesn't help things. The front tow hooks are basically independent considering the weak crossmember up front, plus they bolt to 16 gauge sheet metal. They work ok for a once-in-a-while recovery of light things but if you plan to rely on it you should really get something that ties them together with a reinforcement plate, like a front-mount hitch, full bumper, or a Detours USA Backbone.
I've had good luck so far with C4x4's tow hook bracket kit.
