Can you phrase that in the form of a question?

Why cast iron rather than cast aluminum?

Is that your question?

Is that the complete thought that I was asked to respond to? this complete question- Why?

No, that's not how product recommendation works. When you say "Get this instead. Trust me," you should have reasons to back it up.

I don't like cast iron diff covers for two main reasons. First, everything they touch wears them down. I have a Solid cover on my front axle because I got it cheap when I was in need. The bottom lip is no longer square; it's sloped from rocks taking material off of it. It also has several bent fins from light impacts. I don't trust the cover at all. Secondly, like the aluminum cover he's looking at, cast iron will shatter instead of bending when hit with enough force. For this reason, I like steel covers.

Those factors may or may not affect any particular person, but they're worth discussing.

I rarely if ever make a specific product recommendation, that was not the point.

I was merely pointing out that CI is actually cheaper than the CA that he is considering.

I'll take CI over CA.

Besides, an extra 20lbs isn't going to hurt.

He asked specifically about "aluminum" and "drain plug", neither of which your link provide. Seems he found what he was looking for.

So I definitely have a ground problem,...my jeep wouldn't start and also acting like the battery was dead and than light a would come back on. I jumped a cable from the negative terminal on the battery to an alternator bolt and the thing started right up. So my question is can someone tell me where all the major grounds are that could cause this ? Can I run a new ground to solve it? I see the ground on my inner front fender also the ground from the head to the firewall,...both seem fine. Thanks for your help in advance !

Yup, there's a ground that runs right from the engine block (right side) to the negative battery terminal. Chances are corrosion has broken wires in one end of it. If you're interested, forum member XJwonders makes and sells a set of upgraded cables.

I replaced all my cables and all my ground points.

I don't have a ground problem.

Seeming fine isn't fine. You must remove, scrape til shiny the attaching part and what it attached to, and then reinstall.

Ok sounds good,...what about making up a new ground wire to a new grounding point or would this not help

Can't have too many grounds. Check the ones at the engine dipstick tube stud and negative cable to block first. Also, the one from firewall to head.

The upgraded cables make a noticeable difference. Keep that in mind for the near future.
