Default Fuel Problem

I have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee. When driving it sputters, then surges. I replaced the fuel filter. It still has the same problem. Could this be related to the valve that sticks up out of the tank? I was melted by a leak in the tailpipe. I dropped the gas tank and reinstalled a new one. There was a hose just hanging next to it. So, I just plugged it into the valve since it had a tip that looked like it needed a hose. Did this cause the problem? Is it a vacuum problem?

Default Engine Swap

I am looking to buy a new 4.0 for my 2000 XJ. What years will be completely compatible? What year did they go distributerless? When did they go to Fuel Injection. I know that in 2000 they went to smaller exhaust ports, does that mean I can only use a 2000-2001 engine unless I change the computer?

1) The engine management system is referred to as a "Renix" system - no engine diagnostics - it's all manual

2) It's the rear CCV orifice. There is no PVC valve on the 4.0L engine - it uses a different system (CCV) - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The CCV system consists of the rear CCV fitting, which has a metered size hole, and the front elbow, which is open.

NAPA has that parts that you need. Part #715-1365 and #715-1366 are the rear fitting and hose

I used a "93" engine in my 2000 xj, so any engine from 93-2001 will work. You'll have to change a few minor things but it's not bad or time consumming.

You can check out my engine swap at the group I have (link below)

00-01 direct bolt in....earlier models, you have to reuse the intake, exhaust, sensors....pretty much everything

I'm runnin out of ideas anyone got any.
when I turn the a/c on my radio cuts out for a split second and my volt meter drops to around 10. Also on occasion it either wont start or it struggles to start, like it has A weak battery. I have replaced the alt. battery terminals andBATTERY (yellow Optima ). Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Check your grounds and your wires at the terminals make sure there's no corrosion and. The copper is clean

I bought a 94 rust bucket yesterday. I'm going to start tearing the 94 motor out Friday night and see how far I can get this weekend. I know about the 2 bolts at the top of the trans that need E sockets, anything else I need to know about?
My plan is to pull the front clip and radiator to make this easier, did you go that route?
