I was trying to drill out the oil drain plug that is spinning. When I came back on deployment leave I paid a mechanic to change my oil. I'm guessing they used an impact wrench or something to save time.

I didn't want to drop a gallon of oil on my garage floor when I dropped the pan, so I ended up drilling a hole in the pan itself. I wanted to drill threw the drain bolt in case just the bolt was bad, but the exhaust was in my way.

Thanks.

Do not take my word for it, but from what I've read on pirate, that looks pretty good. Hard to tell since in on my phone.

I'd put it a little deeper but looks like backlash is the main problem.

I'm not an expert, BTW. I just read a lot lol

Yeah man I think the pinion will need one more tiny shim in there. Also, is it weird that the contact area is so concentrated on the drive side?
Thanks for the help man

The shop I took my driveshaft to painted over the marks I made on it prior to removal. Do I still need those marks now that the shaft has been balanced or can I just slap it in?

I believe you don't need them if it's balanced.

From these patterns, pinion depth looks ok, but that will change once you carrier shims move around. Needs to be more centered in the toe and heel.

Looks like the drive side is just making contact with the top of the pinion tooth, needs to be a flatter contact area like your coast side.

This chart came in my Yukon install kits.

I think you are in the pinion too shallow area.

Does anyone know why the power to my fog lights stays on even with the key off? I just wired them up and they work fine but the light on the switch stays on and they work with the key out.
