My friend has a 2000 Jeep cherokee and is leaking coolant bad i talked to a few friends and they all think its the head gasket and head bc when you squeeze the radiator hose coolant squirts out toward the back of the block right around where the manifold ends. Any ideas or useful info thatll help? ive worked on jeeps before but never had one do this.

What's the deal with all the XJ pics I see that have the mounting stud for the gas shocks on the rear hatch relocated to a lower area on the body for added leverage? Stud in the pic is mounted way lower than mine.

Is there a write up on this? Yea I know the 97+'s have them like that from the factory, but I know you can relocate on the old XJ's.

What is the big canister behind the oil filter close to the firewall on renix era 4.0? Is it for the egr system? Can it be legally eliminated? I swapped a new oil fiter adapter in and it would make it 10x easier to change the filter if i could remove it

There's only like a page and a quarter of threads in there, stud relocation's not one of them, anyway I guess the only way to do this would be to weld new studs on.

Im no expert but webbing around i see a rebuilt tc case running anywhere from 600-1200. Id say 1000-1400 would be fare. considering most companies offer a warranty as well.

no where near that. There's just too many of them floating around. You can get a good case for a hundred bucks, add an sye for 200 and a new chain for 70 bucks, I'd say about 300-400. I know there's no way in hell is pay more than that, and I doubt many others on here would either.

hoses, freeze plugs, heater core, water pump, thermostat housing, head gasket (would have to be BLOWN to be able to push coolant out by squeezing the hose) or more likely on a 2000 xj, could be a cracked head. Happened to mine, and has happened to LOTS of others. Check the oil for coolant. Cracked head, or blown head gasket, there will likely be coolant in the oil.
