you could possibly have an issue there
pull up the rear carpet an see if you have any holes back there
it is possible your tank has rubbed against the floor of you rig enough to where both have holes and the fumes are entering the cabbin
or more likely some mud/debris got on top of the tank and rusted through both over time
in any case don't smoke in your ride or use anything to make sparks till you get the carpet out n patched
ohh take pics to

This is a diagram for a 2000 xj 4.0 that i borrowed from AutoZone. What O2 sensors need to be replaced to help with mpg's?

See, this is why i hate autozone. That diagram is most certainly for a v8 engine, probably a grand cherokee v8. Anyways, i digress....

Your 2000 with either have 2 sensors or 4 (if you have the CARB emissions package). It is always the sensors that are in the exhaust prior to the catalytic converter that determine the air/fuel mixture and affect MPGs. You are looking to change the sensor that is directly before the cat on the exhaust downpipe (bank 1 sensor 2 in the diagram you posted)

Um I don't think thats right. That looks like a v8 I could be wrong though. Mines is a 2001 i6 with a dual cat right off the manifold o2 sensors above and below cat. Some piping then the mufflers with more o2 sensors. I can be wrong about the pic though but I know it don't look like mine

Edit: oh look at that dukie already jumped on this I should have read more before I posted but yea auto zone sucks both their products and service. At least by me

Does anyone have a picture of a roof rack on an xj with a sunroof? Or is there not even enough room for one once the sunroof comes out.

I'm trying to check to see if my TPS is bad...I'm backprobing it and can only get a constant reading of about 5.2 volts...which would be too high from what I've heard. Even when I open and shut the throttle it doesn't change...something sounds fishy here, either I'm doing it wrong or the sensor is completely shot...help would be appreciated. By the way I do have the key in with the ignition turned to on, but not running. Black lead is on the negative battery cable.

The PO of my 98 Classic replaced the seats. I took them out to clean some of the crap out from under them and I noticed an electrical box mounted to the floor under the driver seat. What is it?

Dukie got a no question is stupid question. Is the PCM the same as the ECU and do you reset them the same way?
