It'd be fine for conventional sliders, but if you wanted to do the rocker replacement style you would probably want 2x6.

Ur talking 1/4 plate ? That should be more the plenty for strength. Will you be cutting your old rockers out ? If so x2 on the 2x6

Whereabouts? The whole thing is a unibody lol.

3/16ths is pretty standard, 1/4" would be uhhh pretty solid.

Really hoping you guys can help me narrow down the cause to an issue I'm having with a recently purchased 2000 Cherokee Classic. I'll make this as quick as I can. When I'm on the highway, every so often I'll get what feels like a skip or hiccup at cruising speeds (60-70 mph). It's hard to explain exactly what's happening because I've never experienced anything like it before. It almost feels like its slipping a gear? I did have a friend run codes and it came back with P0435? Large emission evaporation leak. Kinda worried, wondering if anyone has any input.

Gross Evap Leak is usually a dryrotted hose between your gas tank and your charcoal canister. If that hose is what's triggering your P0435, it wouldn't cause that issue, and I'd say the problems are unrelated.

Thanks again When it is time to get this thing to pass smog and on the road I am sure I will have alot more questions.....Although it sounds like it is running great !!

Just wondering what you guys are paying for DOM tube. I need to build a cage for a lemons racer, 1.75x.120 dom, and don't want to get reamed for materials, but I don't usually buy my steel for my other misc projects. So what's a decent price per ft? 8$? Higher? Lower?

Default '88 Laredo turn signals a no-go

(sigh)
Flashers work so the bulbs are all good.
Replaced the round blinker unit (under the dash)...still no-go
Checked the relays and fuses and all look fine....still no-go
Bought and installed (thank you all the Cherokee forum guys and gals for your fine posts and pictures!!) the turn signal harness. Oh, yeah, THAT was fun! and still no-go.
I noted here some advice about searching for wires that might be touching the manifold....I'll check that next. Any advice, suggestions, "been there done that" will be so appreciated. Have to get it inspected and this is holding up the works!
