XJ Ask the Question Thread
i just recently bought this 1988 jeep cherokee, inline 6 auot. and its leaking a ton of oil the an air hose and into my airfilter box, drenching my airfilter and leaking oil everywhere from the front of the frame to the rear, i believe it is called blow back or blow by, not quite sure, does anyone know what might be causing this?

and yes i bought my tps at Advance... i was out of town and it was a sunday and no decent parts stores were open. thats why i asked... have never had good luck with any electronic part from autozone especially, advance is 50-50. It never had a high idle before the tps sensor replacement, and the replacement did help. Thanks for the insight!

Ok I know that I could probably figure this on my own but figured it would be easier to ask. what is the easiest way to wire driving lights to the fog light switch and them come on when lights on high and low.

you want them to come on whenever? instead of splicing with high beams or whatever, just run wire to your fuse box and put it in with cig lighter fuse.
i have a 95' cherokee 4.0 liter high output with a 3" lift. i want to change my 3.73 gearing to 4.10 to compensate for my 31" tires. so i'm looking for some advice or suggestions.
Or a clogged CCV system. When the CCV system on XJs clog they have a tendency to spit oil into the airbox like the piston rings are fried.
seeing as you have deeper gearing than most XJs come with stock you should be fine.
If you REALLY want 4.10 gears look for the front axle out of a 4 Cylinder 4x4 XJ. Most of them came stock with 4.10s, Then get a Ford explorer 8.8 with 4.10s and disc brakes for the rear end. If you shop around total damage for both axles and everything involved to install: $500ish. Which is cheap considering thats about what it costs to have gears installed in one axle.

Not to mention the Dana 35 is a total POS that isn't worth investing money into.

doing one of the many methods wouldn't be hard. I still say doing a one-piece shaft would be the best option. It could probably be done in about 2-3 hours.

You still have to have them installed, which is the expensive part.
