How do i go about finding which rear axle i have installed on my 1996 XJ. the I.D.# 6079 and in the front data tag # 52069197 / 3 55 610503-7 please help thanks.

you have 3.55 gears too. a dana 30 upfront and us that chart to see what rear you have

ok found out i have the piece of shizz 35C front and rear. ok how do i start or go about changing this crape out . Which axle is the best and how do i get started, have 2 to change front and rear.

D35s were not an option for a front axle, you have a D30 in the front. Do you have ABS on your Jeep?

no ABS which is better the 44 or 8.25 or maybe something alse all together like after market please help

i Also ran across this http://www.trailquest.com/axles/jeep-factory-axle.shtml . Also how do you know if you have c-clip are no c-clip.

so unlike the website says. Dana did not make a Dana 35 front(steerable) axle. EVERY XJ and MJ have dana 30's in the front.

if you can find a dana 44 rear for the cherokee get it!!! if not find a 29(97+) chrysler 8.25
for a direct swap


if you want a little fab work find an 8.8 with disc brakes or a 9" from the junk yard and build them up

heres a pic of one d 44 i only paid 150 for that an a d30 ...goodluck.......anyone need a d35 with abs from a 97????????????
