wiring help...
First off I'm sorry for the poor quality pics but my computer is on the fritz. So everything was done from my phone.
I'm trying to find out how I would wire this hood light up. It was on my Jeep when I bought it and there isn't a connection anywhere for it. I was just gonna wire it up to a fusable link and switch but I'm only seeing one wire coming from the light and I'm completely lost. Does anyone know how to go about this? Also, how would I know if this is a mercury activated light? Since I don't know how to wire it up, I can't just hook it up and see for all you who have to reply with a smart **** answer.

The wire is the positive and the bracket is the ground. Clean it good to get a good connection. To find out if it's a mercury switch before mounting it, hook 12V to the wire and a ground wire to the bracket while tilting it. JMO

I got it figured out and of course it's a bleepin' merc activated light. So I am trashing it.
Thanks for the help men.
Do either of you know anything about the 2 metal cables that are in front and back of the radiator? Would it be ok to chop one off so my new electric fan wont interfere with it. Just curious.

Id never chop a cable or interfere with whatever its running, always safer to run a new line

The materials more like metal tie wire and there's two seperate bands that wrap around the top and bottom of the radiator. I think its banding to hold the top plate and lower plate sandwiched to all the cores in between them I'm not 100% sure though.
I started a thread on it yesterday but havent got one response. I don't have the link for it but if you find it and post, maybe other preps will too

They are just pieces of strap to keep fan and electrical fan from hitting your radiator... I wouldn't take them out but so long as your new electric fan has plenty of clearance from the radiator with them out then it's fine
