Default Windows not going down

Hello everyone I have a 98 Cherokee limited and once in a while my passenger and the back 2 power windows will not go down with the switches, however if you use the drivers side to row them down they work fine. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Haha I have the same problem with mine. There's a problem with the window lock button. I've never bothered to fix it so I can't tell you how but I'd guess it's in the wiring.

Also check the wire harness between your driver's side door and the body of the Jeep. There may be a broken or frayed wire in there that needs to be repaired. This would also cause this type of situation. Hope this helps yah out.

Take the passenger side module out. The module is the main circuitry that sends the signals to the rest. Disassemble and check the solder joints on the board especially the safety switch. They used really crappy solder in Mexico and it breaks. You should see a hairline crack around the base. Take a solder pen, heat it up and remove the old solder and resolder it. I used Radioshack's solder which works well. Fixed my issue right up.

I had the same problem, so I took off all the door panels and made sure the connectors where plugged in all the way, I put it all back together and it worked...i figure there is a loose wire somewhere but for now it’s working fine.

I figured it a loose wire since it works but not all the time.
