Default Fuel Pump Assembly

Pretty much my fuel pump/ sending unit is bad I know it's the pump and everything with it. So I dropped the tank busted a few knuckles pulled the Assembly out its so rusted when I started to clean it off pieces of it it were chipping away with the rust/gunk that was built up all over it. Anyways I work for Chrysler and with my discount the fuel module or assembly is $775 dollars! Is there anything from another jeep module I can use or should I head to the junk yard and hope for the best?

Here's what it looked like after cleaning it for half an hour

cant tell what year it is from pic but 775 with discount is a rip, get a bosch or carter for less than half that, and put it in yourself

Wow, that's a really clean, white work bench.

...and to answer your question, sounds like the dealership you work at is ripping you off.

I just bought a brand new SPI fuel tank, pump, strainer, sending unit, and all hardware for just over $300 from the parts store. Mind you they gave me a smokin' deal, (list price for all of the above was almost $600) but still, for just a pump and sending unit you're getting robbed.

Not to mention I'm in Canada where everything is more epensive...

*edit* mine is a '93, not sure about yours or how much impact that will have on price.

DAMN!!!
I do know one thing. If I were you I would never buy parts from the dealer that you work for. You can find the complete fuel pump unit that you need all day long for half the price that they are giving you, even with you discount.
BTW, Stay away from the Airtex brand. They are nothing but problems.
