I have a 91 xj with manual windows. My driver side front window rolls down fine till about the last 1/4. Then I can hear the gear hop like its jumping teeth and I have to push the window down then help it back up. I pulled the door skin off and it looks like the gear housing is riveted on. Has anyone had to change this? Is there a replacement kit?

 

Drill the rivets out and use nuts an bolts the secure the new regulator. You might even be able to chisel the heads off of the rivets with a hammer and chisel.

 

Went to the local yard and all they have is electric windows. Any ideas? I have been looking online and I can't find many manual window parts.

 

I looked on www.rockauto.com and only found electric window regulators listed.

 

I found on on eBay for $30

 

Rivits, so dumb. Such a pain in the ***. My xj's window regulator was one of the more difficult regulators I've replaced in my life time .
