what kind of cable is it? you can go with the cheap stuff and kill yourself or you can go with the good cable that lubricates itself. I use a wrecker to recover wrecks for a living make sure you know what your buying. The recovery truck I use has a 9000 lb cable on it and with ****** blocks I can double less weight

winch capacity has nothing to do with cable strength
you just don't want to have 5000lb cable on a 7500 winch
you can have a bigger cable but if you go to big you will loose capacity for length of cable you can have
89 bucks new

I recently bought 100 feet of 5/16 winch cable with the hook and the roller farelead for $75. Matt, you are a gentleman and scholar and there are darn few of us left in the world.
