who reset their jeeps computer?
if you did it, what results did you see
i did a google search on it...peoples "reviews" of doing it seem to be all over
If you did the computer reset, tell me what you noticed most about it?
improvements if any?
my jeep i just put a new cap/rotor, 7mm wires and plugs and new exhaust
drive like a old man and im getting 16, which isnt bad....but im curious if i can squeeze out another mpg or so..
let me knwo

You shouldn't need to flash the ECU with the repairs that you did. You won't see a difference doing that. All I notice when flashing the ECU for no reason is having to spend 3 minutes of my life resetting the radio presets.

I do it every time i change something performance wise or with the sensors. It allows the computer to learn how to use whatever the repair or mod rather than it using what youve done how it always has.
I just put in a new IAC and started it with out flashing the computer and she ran TERRIBLE. then i flashed it and she purred like a kitten. I think its totaly worth it to flash it

Resetting your computer is not necessary for the vast majority of repairs. And for absolutely 100% certainty, not with replacing tuneup parts.

Most repairs will not necessitate a computer reset. Even if you do have a repair that would subtly benefit, the computer will "learn" and reset itself over a period of time.
However, if you had transmission problems and you have resolved them with new components, it is recommended to reset the PCM. Because the PCM will have adapted shift schedules for a bad shifting transmission, when you have fixed it, that adapted shift schedule may result in bad shift points from a good transmission and transmission input signals. Its best to start with the baseline tuning for a trans that is shifting much differently than it did before.

well i did it last night, jeep starts quicker, shift points in the trans are different...it shifts a different rpm's and they are slightly firmer
also notice more whistling noise from the CAI and throttle body
I noticed the overhead counsel for instant mpg....before it was showing 16.3 or near there..
after the reset i did, going the same speed, im in the 17's according to that...
so it must do something.....and i guess its not really hard to do so its worth doing....
and if you leave the negative cable on.....and just touch the positive to the a/c compressor, you dont loose your radio presets
say what you want i guess....it seemed to improve my jeep so far
