98 2 door 4.0 5 speed 6.5 lift and 35 12.50 15s get me an extremely impressive 16 ob the back roads and about 15 if I run it over 65 with the tires that are on it I only go about 5 miles to work one way and can go 10 days on a tank this was a major improvement over the 9 I get out of my dodge

99 sport 4dr, totally stock except 2" BB (oh wow!!! haha) DIY intake (check my pics if you wanna see what i mean), and 235/75 wrangler dura trac's and 124xxx on the odometer.

TONS of new stuff:
-battery
-bat. leads
-plugs
-wires
-TPS (twice, first time i replaced it with el cheapo, then i got a good one)
-IAC
-both o2's..
after all that i managed to eek out 300 miles before low gas light came on and was getting about 18-19 average.

THEN, i dropped my tank and got a big surprise in the form of sand, leaves, an old spring and gasket floating around in there... so a new pump and filter assembly and initially i got slightly worse MPGS, but things seem to be leveling out and im back to +/-19 mpgs...

Newly acquired 96 XJ SE. 204,000 on odometer 103,000 on swapped in 4.0 from same year XJ. Everything is stock no mods yet. LT235/75/15's on stock steelies. Just put in new fuel pump a couple days ago. Before that it was idling low and rough but fine on highway. Was getting 20+mpg with old fuel pump. New fuel pump, good fuel pressure, and computer still adjusting to new readings...not sure now.

I don't get the huge range we have. From 22 down to 5. Some people must have bad parts..... others bad habits?

Probably bad habits, poor fuel mpg generally is more bad driving habits than anything.
