Whats your MPG, Year and Make? Be truthful! We need better MPG's!
Ok don't know if this is a fluke or not ill know more later. Did a tune up old plugs were clean but at .50 new plugs , cap wires etc complete tune up , refreshed grounds set tps . Been Getting 19/20 mpg before tune to. Using seafoam at every fill up. Hit 240 miles on the odo took 9 gallons to fill up.. 1988 xj 215 tires bone stock 167xxx. Automatic trans .. ill report back on the next fill up..

But yes.. that is the way to do it, even with a working gauge it is not an accurate way to determine MPGs anyways.

just gave my stock 98 sport 4.0, new fluids, plugs, filters and rotated the 235/75-15s...after two tanks..i improved from 12mpg city to 14mpg and 16mpg highway to 20mpg....
Completely stock 89xj five speed 3miles/day (1.5m to and from work with idle warm-up in the mornings) 18.6mpg/17.5G with unknown last change of plugs/wires. With new plugs wires and some seafoam we shall see if this helps.
Stock 2000 sport 2wd. Ran seafoam thru when I got her a couple of months ago. New plugs (NGK platinums). 18-19 highway. It's a huge box driving down the street LOL. Not gonna get any better than that.
