Default What rear end? Need help!

I've had this Cherokee for over 6 years now. As far as I can tell from my research, I have a Chrysler 8.25 rear axle. Turns out, when I got parts for my axle, the 8.25 was not an axle option for the year of my Cherokee.(89) I bought axle seals for an 8.25, but they are not the same as what's in my axle. My parts supplier and i are having a hard time figuring out what axle it is. I gave them the number off the axle seal that is in my axle to try to figure out what axle it is, all they can find is from a 90s Dakota. It has a Chrysler symbol cast in the housing.
I pulled the shafts, and it is 27 splines.
Can someone tell me what it is, and maybe what year? What rear end? Need help!-image.jpg
Oh there are a couple small tags bolted to the cover. 1 says 3.5, the other has a 3044 on it.

According to Quadratec all 8.25's from '91 to '01 take the same seal.

That's a 27 spline 8.25.

That lip on the bottom of the diff cover is a dead giveaway it's an 8.25.

Look a little more after that. See two little humps like rhino horns?

I was able to get a number off a seal, and tried to get the parts person to find what vehicals
Take that seal. They came up with early 90s dodge Dakota. Anyone know if they fit with no mods? All the welds and everything look factory. No grinding or old welds.
