Mine are down to the interior hardboard. Looking for any make, model or year that will fit my 1990 Cherokee without traipsing through Pick-Ur-Part with a tape measure for 3 hours.
Have you installed anything from a different year Jeep or even a generic aftermarket visor? Everything I'm finding used online looks like they're never going to clean up properly (the fabric ones) or, worse, are about to disintegrate if you breath on them like mine already did.
Thanks in advance; all help appreciated!

Pretty sure any year xj/zj/mj will all interchange. I can attest to the later ones (atleast 95 and up) are not difficult to recover. They are plastic and have multiple retaining clips that are kinda a pain to release but if your changing the existing fabric anyway then just cut away the old to expose them for ease of separation.
Off my head i cant recall a specific change over year form the very thin style visors to an eventual thicker plastic version im referencing.

I've got a slightly different problem. Believe it or not, the visors in my '90 are still in pretty nice condition but one of them has a broken anchor tab. (the little tab that protrudes from the visor to hold it in place) Somebody told me the other day that they pull out, but honestly, I haven't tried yet.
I've never seen "visor tabs" for sale either so I'm doubtful that's true.
I suppose I could drill a small hole in the remaining stub and screw a large headed screw in there.

Speaking from experience with my '88, which "should" be the same as a '90, the sun visors are longer than subsequent years. I found that visors from a J10 were a perfect fit, including the same lighted mirror on the passenger side. I have to assume that the J10 and Grand Cherokee have the same visors, but I'm not certain. I also believe that you can fit later year XJ visors, you just need to put the newer years plastic retainers in the correct place to hold them.

Edit: took me all of 10 minutes. Whadaha think? If I can find a cheap set I may buy them anyway. Mine are almost white!

Those do not look like my '88. Mine have a longer thin neck that goes behind the rear view mirror (like in the link below). The picture is of a visor that you have re-covered? If that is the case, from what I can see it looks great. I would say the advice given from others is correct. You can use the subsequent year XJ sun visors.

I was finally lucky. My local Pick-Ur-Part got in another '90 XJ, I got there there the next day and snagged a very nice pair of sun visors for $15. A hell of lot happier about that than the $90+ I was finding on eBay, etc., for questionable condition visors.
