Cool 1999 XJ Sport Oil Pressure Gauge

The Oil Pressure Gauge with the engine on pegs at 80psi ~ Replaced the sender with the same problem ~ Put in another sender, and get the same problem ~ Not being to smart I tried one more sender with the same result. (Repeating the same thing over and over and getting the same result is the definition of crazy). A dealer who shall remain nameless scanned for the problem and said it was the PCM unit. Got a rebuilt unit - Still have the same problem. Any ideas short of putting in a mechanical gauge? Anyone?

My gauge always showed the same psi also, but not quite 80...right at 40psi or so. I went through a couple autozone sensors due to this until I bought a mopar one from the dealer. I dont know if it will be any better because I have to rebuild my motor first. I have to rebuild it because of the last autozone sensor that blew out the back and i lost all my oil driving down the highway. Now my motor sounds like crap and has a piston slapping around REAL bad.

Repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different result- thát is the definition of insanity

Verification with a mechanical pressure gauge would be recommended before anything else

Curious: What oil and filter currently? Changed recently?
