Hello, i had problems with my power steering pump for a while. My pump went bad and i sent it to a mechanic to repair it and it still wasnt working. I got a new one (looks to be cheap, not original) and it failed after 3-4 days also. Went to another mechanic and he told me that it failed cause my Jeep has visco. After that i took the Jeep home and to fix it myself. Then i tired searching for around a month for a original new or used in good condition but couldnt find it. Later a guy from a forum told me that a VW Mk4 Golf 1.9 TDI had the same pump. I bought one, modified the the cable and was a perfect fit. But then i noticed the visco wasnt working, looks like the mechanic i had it at before somehow broke it. I bought a new one, fitted everything and now everything seems to be fine. Until i start hard accelerating when the power steering stops working, i need to stop the Jeep and rev it a bit in neutral for it to start working again. This issue has been happening even before the original pump failed. What would be the cause of this? Am i using the wrong PS fluid? Im using ATF.
